Scott,

I would agree with you that the Taunton River holds year round fish. Last May I had the opportunity to canoe the river for three days. There is a lot of potential, but unfortunately not much from shore. The banks are very steep and overgrown. I managed some white and yellow perch on this outing, but not in great quantities.

However,I do not know if stripers could breed here. The river is extremely "silty." So much so that often you can not see the bottom. But one never knows.

P.S. The Taunton River Watershed Alliance (TRWA), a non-profit organization, sponsors the aforementioned canoe trip. This year will be only the second year and is a great trip encompassing about 22 miles of canoeing/kayaking over the course of three days. Anyone interested please let me know.
