Bruce, what do you mean by "studding the bottom with heavy mono" - what are youactually doing with the mono.
Art, a tow handed retrieve is what I found the best. You put the rod under one arm and do a hand-over-hand retrieve. This
way there is always tensionon the line, so you can feel a strike. And, as Bruce said in his response, I found a bungee
cord to work the best. This is the way I had observed several people doing it, and a book I have also recommended the
same way. I have just got started with saltwater fly fishing and I am sure I
could learn alot from you. My past experience is fresh water fly fishing back in central NY.
