I've posted five new fly patterns from Page Rogers.
They are:
The last of the summer series: The Big Eye Baitfish (herring)
Lefty's Deceiver
Clouser Minnow
Argentine Blonde
Bonito Bunny.
Check out the homepage for links to the specific flies.
And, while we're on the topic of flies, I've started a new Fly Forum and have proposed the following:
FLY SWAP
A few years ago on the fly fishing listserv, a number of fly tyers set up an Internet fly swap. It was a huge success and has been repeated many times since.
Here's how it works. A group of ten or so tyers agree to exchange flies through the mail. Tyer A may decide to tie Deceivers, Tyer B ties Clousers, Tyer C ties poppers ....
Each tyer ties as many flies of the same pattern as there are participants.
The participants post their addresses here. Each tyer sends one fly to each participant, and in exchange receives a single fly from the others in the swap.
Result: you get a nice variety of flies in exchange for your labors and time spent mailing your patterns out.
These swaps can be broadly or narrowly focused. Ten swappers could agree to only tie Clousers, but in different sizes and colors. Another ten could just do bonefish patterns, etc.
For the first swap let's restrict it only to saltwater patterns.
