Larry, It's rather puzzling as to why your hooks are breaking. I've had them
bend, but rarely break. Most of the hooks I've had break were of the trout fly
variety. In more than 40 years of striper fishing I've only managed to break
a couple of hooks that were 5/0 or larger. In all cases they were severly
abused. Sounds as though you got a bad batch of hooks which are brittle for
some reason.
