I have been having a lot of trouble with some 4/0 Tiemco fly hooks which I
use for making my tarpon flies. They snap just at the bend when setting
the hook on tarpon. One has to be very gentle with the fly and hope that
the fish cooperates. No easy task with these wild 100 lb fish. Now I have
just about reached the limit of my patience with these hooks and I have
lots of them(500). Is there just something wrong with this batch? - though
I am using different ones from other boxes as a check. No positive results.
I checked the vice. etc. What next?...
