Didn't fish today. But I was at the canal. I checked out the end of the
rr bridge parking lot before I started my bike ride. I just missed
a guy land a 48" bass. Just as I arrived his buddy hooked into another
nice fish. This one was about 38". They took both the fish and headed for
the bait shop. They caught the fish around 12pm bright and sunny about
an hour into the western tide. I think they were using pogies but am not
sure. They were using bait.
I rode the entire length of the cape side. Didn't see any other fish. Did
see a lot of bored looking fishermen.
Today is about as busy as the canal will get. Lots of people fishing and
using the path.
There didn't seem to be too many people on the opposite side. Not too may
in the cribbin or the herring run area.
The fish are in the canal. At this point it appears that timing is everything.
Pick the right tide and time and your in. Pick the wrong one and you may
fish for 6 hours with may be a few schoolies.
