the commercial loops do break. lost one this weekend to a goodsized shad, which is not nearly big enough to merit the damage. ended up going with the triple nail knot for a permanent butt. no problems casting, fits through the guides nicely. we'll see if it holds up, but i'm not expecting any difficulties.
