Fished most of the weekend on the north bank of the Merrimac under the 495 double decker bridge in Lawrence. I saw several guys catch wicked big stripers, biggest was 39 inches. They were using live herring on a spinning rod. After seeing this, and not catching anything with my little clousers, I went home and tied up some shad darts to catch herring with. Sure fly-fishing is fun, but I want a keeper!
