I was there at 10:30 am and walked slowly out with the tide to the channel,
where I proceded to get skunked for about an hour and a half. I was about in
the middle of 7 or 8 guys who didn't appear to be getting anything.
Then someone pulled up in the channel in a boat about 40 yards in
front of me and began to hook up almost every cast. I said to myself
"hmmm.... fly change time!" After a couple of bad choices I chose a
chartreuse and white deceiver
with a couple of rusty, almost orange saddles.People had drifted away by then,
and I began to pick up a striper on almost every cast. They were mostly small
schoolies ( the world's smallest, I think ) with a couple of exceptions, one
about 24 - 25 inches that picked up a fly that had been dropped by a schoolie.
Love them upgrades. What a blast though. I got 20 fish in about
2 and 1/2 hours.
