6-4-97: Plum Island Report

Was at the sandbar at 4:30 AM and the bait fishers were already set up. So I went out to the end of the bar. Caught a few fish out there at first light on jigs, all under 20 inches.

Didn't see anyone doing much better. Checked out the docks by the coast guard station and there was a good sized pod of schoolies near the party boats. Picked up another 10 mostly under 18 inch fish.

Also checked the beach front, but the NE wind has really weeded it up so I decided to pass on it.

All in all, smaller fish today than I've seen in the past week, but this is purely temporary I'm sure.
