Fished the Merrimac @ Captains from 5 to 7:30am. Picked up 10 fish by 6:00am on
the ebb tide. Most fish were 20+ with very few under 18". Saw another flyfisherman
pick up a 28-30" fish! One spin fisherman boasted a query of 65 fish, he was using a
grey rubber bodied shad immitation weighted to drag the bottom! The hot fly
was a 2/0 chaur. or chaur/white clouser going very deep.
The only bummer was a 15 knot wind. After hitting myself in the side of the head with a clouser
I decided to teach myself to cast left handed, then I got my first fish.
