I definitely feel that fishing on the beach is a great way to go. So many of the fish are

up close and personal. The surf is to me the most exciting spot to fish, especially when the

tide is moving out fast and is creating cross currents with the breakers. Many

good stripers seem to want the baitfish that are disoriented by this action. I have tried

many types of lines (floating, intermediate, sink-tip, sinking)for this type of fishing,

and I like the full sinkers (fast to very fast). The line is much easier to control in the waves and currents

and if the wind is strong, much easier to cast(smaller diameter). As far as waders... bootfoots only

too much sand and hassle with stocking foots.
