Jim,

I have never particularly liked the heads and use them for chum but I had a situation late last year that changed my mind. I had chummed out about three pogie heads in the early evening and tossed out a fresh body chunk. About 10 minutes later I landed
the biggest fish of the year, about 39-40" approaching the upper 20's in weight. When we were cleaning it up later (belly hooked) we checked the stomach---my two pogie heads! So the fish eat them for sure, but I have often had a hard time hooking with t
hem as well.

Also, I think pogie heads are strictly for the larger fish.
