6/7 SOUTH SHORE REPORT, " SCHOOLIE DAZE"

Drove the coast again from Hingham, to North River...No major bird or bait acton anywhere...about fifteen boats camped out together by Minot's Light though....If only I could add another mile-and-a-half to my cast, I'd have been on some serious fish today
!

Fished the, " Super Top Secret North River Lunker Striped Bass Hangout," from an hour before to two hours after high tide. Caught about a half dozen schoolies to only 20" and saw no bigger fish today. My weak cast and floating line really hurt today, as t
he wind was blowing right into my face from the best spot in the hole. I couldn't hit the hotspot at all, and only took a few stragglers from the fringes...Big bushy deceivers with split shot don't cast worth a damn into a headwind! Without the split shot
or a loop on sinktip, I couldn't get the flies down to the fish.

Of course, some kid with a depth charge line was throwing'em 70 feet on every cast when I arrived...Thank god he left before I got rigged up!

Still it did beat the hell out of working or mowing the lawn!
