I talked with a fisherman (did not get his name) at Plum Island Beach on Saturday morning and was informed that the town is looking at not allowing fishing between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. They feel that swimming and other beach activities are
compromised, and the well being of other beach goers is endangered by fishing. Thankfully it is when fishing is slower but I was a little upset about this. It seems to me that fishermen should have the same rights as swimmers, and beachcombers.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?
