Clouser eye durability

I went thru 6 or 8 clousers in very limited fishing in the past 2 days; the Universal Vice lead dumbbell kind. Smashing them off the rocks and jetties for 15 minutes or so causes first one eye to break off then the other to fall out.

What other kinds of weighted eyes are more durable and also get down? I like the durability of bead chain eyes, but they don't have the same sinking action as lead.

Any suggestions for a rainy fly tying kind of day?
