The blistering problem is the one that gets me. Drag also goes, but I'm of the opinion that fly fishing reels are line holders for the most part -- tell that to a false albacore headed to Portugal. I saw in some book, maybe a Lefty Kreh book on saltwater fly fishing, that showed how to modify a Medalist so you could thumb the reel.
