Fished the touney this w/e under what could be described as less than ideal weather.
Don't mind the rain but the lightning strikes are a little un-nerving when you're
standing on Cape Pogue on Chappy with nothing but a low dune at your back. Paired up
with a gentleman from RI and took him out on a tour of Chappy. I managed to avoid
any crowds but also managed to avoid catching fish - Doh. My sense was the bass
were off the north shore of Pogue but we were there at the peak of the storm and
personal safety got the better of us so we spent time chatting in the truck. We fished
around Cape Pogue Pond and the Gut and then headed back to the mainland. Fished
Eastville and the bend in the road along State Road. There were some fish around that
area but I never got hooked up.

All said a good time and I'll likely repeat. I'm a newby fly rodder - or more likely
a long time plug and eel slinger interested in trying something new. The gentleman
I paired with was really helpful with my (ahem) less than perfect fly casting technique.

I'm just glad I wasn't the guy that got the closest lightening strike award at the
breakfast yesterday.

Phil
