Name is Dave Micus, 43, and I've been fishing since I can remember. Mostly fished from a boat around the Atlantic city area with my dad for monster blues, but now I fly fish for striped bass around the Ipswich, MA area (where I live). I work at Boston University as a mid-level bureaucrat, and teach an intro to fly fishing course here on the side for fun. I am married to a truly wonderful woman, Susan, and I have two boys, Jimmy, age 11 and Josh, age 9, who enjoy freshwater fly fishing (and nintendo, soccer, etc.) I have a knack for inventing flies about two days before the big fishing magazines come out with an article about the same pattern. I' tired of explaining catch and release to people at work, and have taken to saying "fishing is like relationships: the fun is in the catching" which always stops the women from pursuing the matter further.I'm currently working on my doctoral dissertation in education, but striped bass season always brings that to a crashing halt. I recen
tly bought a small sailboat, and i'm trying to figure out how to fly fish from it (but to no avail).
