My name is John Tormey and I am a lurkaholic.
I was dubbed JT when I was in Little League and it stuck. I live on the North Shore. I started fishing Salem Harbor as a kid catching flounder. My Dad had a small boat. I took a 10 year hiatus basically because of the sewage and pollution in the NS waters. In 1992, I took a fly-fishing class at U-Lowell and started hitting the fresh water. My wife, Susan, bought me a saltwater fly outfit before our wedding in '96 and I've become an addict. The amazing thing for me is, as a kid I could not swim in the Danvers River, in the last 2 years I've caught about 300 fish. I lurk to learn, which has been alot! I work for the Department of Youth Services in Boston. I have found this board to be intimidating at times and I hope to contribute more. Thanks to all of you! I continually become a better fisherman because of your expertise!
