When I was a little kid growing up in Pittsburgh, I loved to fish. I fished for bluegills, largemouth bass, and sometimes trout. I had a flyrod & I tied my own flies. I surf fished when we went to the beach in the summer. I wanted a boat (but we never had one).
Then I became a teenager, and fishing wasn't cool anymore. Some years later, I started a computer networking company, and for 11 years had no time for fishing, or anything else. Three years ago, I pretty much retired, and now I'm making up for lost time.
I love fishing. I love fishing for schoolies with a flyrod. I love using spinning gear to toss Roberts Rangers at surface feeding bluefish. I love pulling bass out of a rip with wireline & heavy conventional gear. I love driving around all day south of the islands, looking for white marlin (although, given my success rate of zero, I doubt they actually exist). I like sunny days, and foggy days, and rainy days, and calm days, and rough days, and any other day I get out on the water. I love fishing.
I live in Cotuit, on North Bay. I have a wife (who likes fishing), two daughters aged 2.5 & 0.5 (who will like fishing), and a dog (who will never like fishing). People who visit ask why I need so many fishing rods.
I read everything I can get my hands on to try to learn more about where & how to catch fish. I lurked on this bulletin for about a year or so, and then started posting occasionally last year.
Starting about this time of year, I fish mostly offshore. I don't post much about offshore trips, because they don't seem relevant to the other active Reel-Timers. You guys can correct me if that's wrong.
I got a Reel-Time t-shirt from Thorne last week. I was psyched!
