I would say that for charters a good jumping off place is either Pt.Judith or Snug Harbor RI. They have offshore, canyon, and overnight trips. If people ask I will get the list of boats what they fish for with the telephone nos. If you want in August,or September you can catch yellowfin, or shark around "The Gully" which is about 20 miles south of Block Island. Last August my son on his 23 foot Formula caught a 400 lb Mako plus a few yellowfins, all the blue sharks you could ever want to catch. Just setup a slick. Within an hour or two you should atleast see some shark. Hope this helps someone. Art B.
