My name is Bruce Rueben.Mostly I lurk but occasionally I have posted. I live near Brunswick, Maine with my wife,Denise and our four children (ages 13,11,8 and 7). To finance my flyfishing, I head up the Maine Hospital Association. Moved to Maine from Virginia five years ago where I did all of my flyfishing in freshwater. In Maine, I discovered saltwater flyfishing and have concentrated on stripers ever since.

I fish out of an 18 ft. Lund Alaskan and spend most of my fishing time in the lower Kennebec river and Casco Bay including Portland Harbor. Had so much success last season that I started to think I knew something about flyfishing for stripers. So far this season, I have been humbled. I'm doing everything I did last year but the fish are harder to find. The good news is that the season is not over and the floods are behind us (I hope).

I tie my own flies and have managed some big fish on them. My biggest yet is a 42 inch beauty that I caught and released in July last year. In fact, July was my best month last year. This year I'm hoping for a great August.

I am blessed to have married a very understanding woman. In addition to my saltwater flyfishing addiction, I also manage a trip to the wilds of northern Canada or Alaska each year. I've got lots of info on outfitters and great trips if anyone is interested.

This board is a tremendous resource and I check in almost every day. Would love to trade info and perhaps even fish with others on this board who are near my neck of the woods. In any event, thanks for Reel-Time. I learn something new here all the time.
