Great thread as usual! I have known many of you from your posts only over the last 2-3 years, and a few in person that I have met at Poppy or on the Canal. I, like many of the others here am in the software/computer industry. I formed a software consulting corporation back in 1994 that is still going strong today. I am getting a little tired of it after 4 years, and have probably been kept sane by my time spent fishing. I am only 25, living with my girlfriend. I am now an uncle as of two weekends ago as my brother had his first child. Other than that, as some of you know, I am a fishing nut from late July onward. This year, I just about fished myself into heaven on the bluefish run, and am just now getting re-organized from the crazy evening trips of mid-May.
I was introduced to fishing by my neighbor and fathers friend. He used to bring me fishing down the canal in the 80's when bluefish were the norm and stripers very rare. I believe I fished for several years before getting my first striper in the early 90's. I have kept only 1 fish in the last two years, a 39" 28# striper that was belly hooked at the canal. I still feel terrible about keeping it, because I believe that some day soon we will be wondering where all the stripers have gone.
That is about it for now, I can only hope I have the opportunity to meet more of you as time goes on.
