Geez,
I go off-line for a couple days and look at what you all get started. Well, better late than.........(augh, I hate cliches')
I guess I should type a couple lines here since I am a regular around these parts.......
Briefly, I've been a network Coordinator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: DTA for 3.5 years. (spare me the state worker jokes for now... :-) Previously I was a field service engineer for 8 years and fixed computing equipement. Before that I was in the fast attack sub service in the Navy during the cold war, early 1980's. I'm presently 33 yrs old, married with children. I live in Wareham, so I'm a sort ride to each type of sportfish Mass has to offer. Perfect for an all-around fish junky like myself. (trout, salmon, bass, pike and all salt species) I'm on the Canal at least a couple times a week except that I also play league softball in Plymouth, which takes some of my fishing time away. (work takes most of the rest!)
Been fishing regularly since I was 4 (29 yrs and counting). I came online only just a year ago. Interestingly enough, I was introduced to Reel-Time when I met Mark Cahill while I was fishing on the Plymouth Nuke jetty last August. He gave me his card and I've been here ever since. I always liked to write and he gave me that opportunity by posting some of my modest beginner's articles on his FNE web page. (He even let me do it for free! :-)
I love to have a few yucks as I fish for shear enjoyment. (though I think I actually end up working HARDER out there) For me, fishing is suppose to be fun. Leave the serious stuff at work.
I think it's important to point out, and I am thrilled to say, that I've actually met and fished with a few guys strictly by meeting them here.
Les Clark, Scott Simard, Larry Backman and others. It's important for me to always meet new fishermen and learn new areas and techniques.
Oh ya, and I just became Mike Thomas' new neighbor.
I meant to keep this brief so I'm going to cut it short. Anyone interested in trading fishing trips with me, feel free to e-mail. I'm always looking for someone to hit the Canal with and I enjoy heading out to other guys special fishing areas and learning. (I can keep a secrete, always more to learn...)
* See ya on the rocks............
