I know these spots are kind of far offshore, but I hope these reports are of interest to someone ...

Fished today at the Rose & Crown, which is a shoal about 12 miles east of Nantucket. It was my first time out there this year. We were wireline jigging in the rips. The fishing was a little slow by Rose & Crown standards, but we managed to scare up seven bass in about 2 hours. The largest went about 20 lbs. I had to try several spots before we found fish.

We also did some bluefishing at Sankaty Head, on the east side of Nantucket. It lived up to its reputation as a hotspot for big blues. We released 8 or 10 bluefish in about an hour. None of them was less than 10 lbs. I didn't see any finning on the surface, which is a change from last week.
