I'm going to be in Westport for a fer days the first week in July. I'm staying with friends near the herring run on the south side of the river and I'm walking distance from the beach. I've been there once before but won't have a car this time and have never fished that area. Could someone please suggest a place to start fishing in that vicinity. I've thought that the inlet looks good, but so does the beach to the south with all the big rocks. Then again there's the river itself. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
