A positive aspect of all the rotten weather, especially the fog, has been I have been taking a close look at some nearby areas which I normally would bypass. As a result I spent an hour or so poking around the south side of Raccoon Island at dusk. Got a couple of rat sized bass but I think they were renegades from the school which visits the channels each night. A couple of very fishy looking spots though and I will check out the other side soon and when the current is running a little stronger. I guess in my efforts catch SOMETHING (pathetically I have yet to see a single bluefish, help please.) it's easy to become habitual about the areas with which we are familiar and have been productive in the past. Exploring new locations on a regular basis, fish or no fish will become part of my routine each week.
