Re: Kayaking thoughts

On the stability point, I have seen in the Cabella's catalog a device called a "canoe stabilizer." It is nothing more than a couple of floats, one on each end of a bar which attaches cross-wise. It creates the effect of an outrigger on each side of the boat. This particular device is not designed for a kayak but it would be very easy to make one. If you added the capability to fold the device so the floats were out of the water and close to the hull you could benefit from the ease and manuverability of the kayak on the way to the spot and then create a stable casting and catching platform. The only downside that I can think of is that you would look...peculiar. Any thoughts?
