Re: Swordfish boycott - good, bad or silly?

I, as with Mike P, had an awakening after reading the Perfect Storm. It was also about the time Saltwater Sportsman began writing about the Swordfish stock depletions. Since then, I have made my preference for a swordfish boycott known to many friends and family alike. Most were big swordfish fans, so it was no easy task. But it has made an impact, and many have turned around and done the same thing to their own acquaintances. I have even run into some friends and when the topic came up for whatever reason, they would say "Oh, you're sister in law, (or whomever), told me about the boycott, and I'm with her(them) on this." It made me feel great! That's how it starts, and it is our job to keep it going. Believe it or not, those small results can multiply faster than you think, and it sure is nice to get a return like that to acknowledge to all that it is working. Our job is to keep plugging away. Maybe someday my son will be able to pursue these beautiful off-shore beasts and
others like my father did! I hope so....
