The only time eels have worked for me on the flats, either wading or by boat, have been at night. During the day they are not that effective. Fished Sun. afternoon low at the cut nad got 4 shorts at outgoing and 2 with incoming. All on surface poppers. On the incoming, I've found that the flats east of the cut are better. Only keeper this past weekend was a 41 inch, 28lb on a mackeral filet at Lecount Hollow. That was Friday. Sat, Sun and Mon the back beaches were dead.
