Actually I did it last year. The ocean side is not very deep - maybe 3 feet at low tide along the edge. Nice sandy bottom also. Of course the inlet side is very deep, and one has to be careful of the rip between those rocks. If your careful about the tide, it looks worse then it is. Several "locals" were doing it without even blinking. BTW, I caught several Fluke on the ocean side at that spot last year on fly. One was a very large "doormat".
