I fished the Narrow river on the outgoing tide for the first time since last season on the rumor that someone had been into some schoolies there. I bounced a clouser along the bottom from the inlet up about 200yrds with out a bump. I did not see so much as a stick of bait. But did see a pair of swans feeding just out side in the ocean. This is the earliest I have fished for stipers and was curious, was my technique( closer on bottom) my location( an outflow on a dropping tide), was it too early for fish in catchable numbers, or was it just one of those days?
P.S. It was a beautiful day to be on the water after a winter cooped up?
P.P.S. have the scoolies started to show anywhere in RI?
