You can learn all about the Quashnet in a book published by Trout Unlimited called "Trout Fishing in Massachusetts". It is available at some tackle shops on the Cape, including Eastman's in Falmouth, or check the T.U. website. In fact, every brook trout in the Quashnet is a native fish, one of the reasons it is managed as a catch and release fishery. Twenty years ago the state tried to establish a sea-run brown trout fishery, but it was a failure.
