I too was not keen on chartreuse just as an obnoxious color. But I had a talk with Bob Clouser at a show. He had been fooling around with various films and light sources in underwtare photography. As I recall it, he said, "so I took it from behind and underneath, cause that's where I'd be if I wanted to grab it. You know, we really have no idea how that predatory fish's brain works when it's processing visual information, especially color. When it was developed, we're looking at the slime coat and into the gills, and what do figure we were looking at with that film and light? .... Chartreuse!"
