The floating line was part of the package. You could probably call up LLBean and get them to substitute an intermediate line instead.
Oh - I forgot to mention that there is a lifetime warranty from old LL which makes the price even more appealing. I just knocked the handle off my reel from said outfit today after bouncing it off something hard
