Has anyone tried the Stu Apte Multi-Tip fly lines. They are attractive since you can purchase a running line with a floating head and medium sink head for only
$40.00. Extra tips (intermediate/extra fast sink) are another 12 bucks or so.
With the excessive cost of fly lines and my desire to have at least 2 line types for each rod weight, things can get out of hand. I usually like to have an intermediate, medium sink, and extra fast sink tip for each rod weight. The current prices would make that a $150 shopping spree. This seems like an affordable alternative.
The question is, do they cast well?
