That's pretty neat. I wonder how they model the SST readings? Only major drawback to the site seems to be that the data is a week old. Anyway, in combination with the buoy sea temp readings on other sites, it's useful.
Initial arrival of the stripers at southern CT and at West Wall and sea temps in the upper 40s seem to be connected, although I guess you'd need to ask a fish biologist for the real scoop.
Shad seem to be triggered into their upstream migration at about the same temperature. I would expect them to show on the Chicopee River any day now. But, it will be tough to fish the Connecticut at Holyoke until the river drops below flood stage.
