flyfished 10am-2pm (2hours on either side of high water) in little neck bay. Water very murky. Saw very little action on fly, plug or bait.
On way home stopped to check out Gerritsen Creek, one of my favorite early season spots. I arrived at 3pm, 1 1/2 hours after low water (best tide stage there is beginning of incoming water) got 3 visible follows on first three casts. slowed down retrieve and hooked 16" striper on all white 4" deer hair bug. Took another, 13", with weighted 4" white raghead. Water had risen appreciably and i find that action dies about 2 to 3 hours into flood.
If anybody wants more specifics feel free to E-mail.
