Bitterroot River in Southwest Montana

The Bitterroot River has been fishing quite well this spring. Early runoff
from melting snow has sustained the river at a higher than normal level but
the river has been relatively clear and very fishable. The spring hatch of
Skwala's has been good. It started March 11th and when I fished this last
weekend I saw plenty of them still around. The Skwala is a smaller cousin to
the giant Salmon Fly that hatches in June. It is quite dark and a size 10
pattern usually does the trick.

Good Fishing!
