Watch Hill, RI Fishn' Report:

Schoolie Stripers are in the Pawcatuck River as of 4/25/97. Bright Yellow Bunny fly's have always worked well this time of year and this year is no different. A few reports of bigger fish to 17lbs have been confirmed. This year the larger fish should be in the "Kitchen" and off the Watch Hill Light as early as May 10-15, according to my log records.
On April 24, I caught a 4lb Atalntic Salmon in the Pawcatuck River. This seems to be the first confirmed catch of an Salmon in the river in 8 -10 years. The fish was recorded and released. There is a DEM Salmon trap about two miles further up river, but to my knowledge , no fish have been captured since its inception four to five years ago.
I do know of several people who picked up some Sea Run Browns in April last year, in the Quonny Jetty.
