Hi Bob, Your report of your brother's catch confirms some pretty reliable reports of 36 - 40" stripers being caught in that area.
They were supposedly caught on flyrods! Your lucky you weren't there this morning.
It was cold with a raw NE wind blowing. I managed to get a few up to 23", but I froze doing it. Good Luck.
