Jon Rodin and I fished the South Cape on Friday 5/16 and Sat 5/17 under
yet another 30 knot wind. All fishing was done from shore as putting
the boat in the water was out of the question.

We fished the Falmouth Pond inlets, Popponessett spit and Cotuit. We
found fish at Cross St. Cotuit and a single fish at the last
jetty on the Cotuit side of Poppy inlet. Birds were working the inlet
entrance channel a half mile out but were out of reach.

Saw nothing at Menahunt, Bournes or Green Pond but Great Pond was on fire
both days on the outgoing tide. We each got 15 or 20 fish each day in a
couple hours. Fish were hanging in the standing waves at the end of the
jetties.

Surprisingly I was able to fly fish even with the howling wind as the fish
were right under the jetty and a 30' roll cast and slow drift was all that
was needed.

No signs of bluefish but I'm sure they are imminent.

L.
