May is a great month. You could fly fish every day and still logically bemoan the missed opportunities: tarpon cruise the keys (and I can no longer dissappear to live in a truck for a month), shad fill the Delaware, Hendricksons are still popping up on the Housitonic, Baja goes crazy (i'll be there this month!), the wind and crowds leave central america alone..it's unbelievable.
What amazes me, though, is what happened around here this April (online).
We have had to archive early due to UNPRECEDENTED activity. Good 'ol hypermail logged over 900 messages in 29 days before it finally gagged.
These messages were requested over 70,000 times in the last week alone. I'm really not congratulating myself so much as I am thanking a remarkable community of fanatic sportsmen, so congratulate yourselves.
Good god, what will happen when the fishing gets good! This is all very exciting for the staff here. But that's enough meta-conversation.

Oh and incidentally...I'm expecting many NEW readers this week, believe it or not, so let's welcome them warmly.
