4-30: Bass River, West Dennis

Was here this morning before work at the early to mid-stages of the outgoing.

Managed to cull about 10 schoolies in various

spots both up-estuary and down towards the jetties, but had to work at it. The

action, although good, was slower than the exceptional action here last weekend.

My makeshift shad dart/tiny grubtail rig on a trout rod worked best, followed by white

tube lures (Gitzits), and chartreuse Clousers. Sizes to 22-23 inches, including

one locomotive that was too much for my trout rod and broke off after a 10 second

run in the current. Bigger fish were between the jetties, smaller ones upstream.
