Speaking of Cove Road. I have kayaked out of here numerous times. You dont have to kayak to catch fish. right there at the cove road ramp is excellent fly fishing. As far as kayaking is concerned I would head up river from this spot as it does get a little tricky as you proceed downstream if the wind and tide are at odds. Or the suggestion of putting in further upstream right before the bridge where High Bank Road crosses Bass River might even be better.
Another idea . There are lots and lots of bass in scenic and less built up Herring River in Harwich.
