A slammer bluefish is about 30# long, weighs upwards of 10 pounds and is outfor blood. Put one of those in a cooler and you'll find out why they are called slammers.

The ones Dave & Steve are referring to are long and lean, all head, and no belly and when annoyed; well, my experience w. bluefish is that the less bluefish you take in the boat the better off your fingers are in the long run.

These are also jumpers; a typical fish has at least 3 leaps in it as opposedto the later in the season head down battle.
