Too bad he didn't catch it before midnight. An April-caught bluefish would have been a novelty in this area (or at least unusual).
Since I fish exclusively from shore, I ain't breaking out my poppers or wire leaders until the critters start hitting South Cape, Poppy, or Oregon Beach. But the way things are going, that could be this weekend.
