Actually, it is not really gone. You just can't walk out there in your
jeans and sneakers anymore. I checked the beach at the new moon tide in April
and the outer bar appears to have flattened out. I suspect those of us
with waders will be finally able to avoid the bait guys. Nothing personal. :-)
Also, the beach near the dock now is very steep. Once again, you'll need
waders at low tide to get near the water.
