Went to West End 2 at Jones Beach yesterday to fish the inlet. Got therte just before high tide and began with a deceiver but then switched to an olive/chart/white Clouser fished low and very slow with an I line. Got 8 bass including two at 26 and 27 inches, my biggest of the year. Could have used an S line once the tide started moving out-very fast. Got some fish by letting the fly swing into the rip then letting it hang with some twitches. Nice spot with good access-no permit needed before dark. $4 fee for park entrance on Meadowbrook Pkwy. BTW- the Wantagh Pkwy bridge to Jones Beach is OUT so traffic will be a nightmare soon.
